Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager [b]James Stevenson[/b] has shared a PlayStation 3 developer diary video today spotlighting the enemies and artificial intelligence in Resistance 3 on the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: We are working hard here at Insomniac HQ, putting the finishing touches on Resistance 3 in time for our September 6th release date.

We were happy with all of our fantastic comments on the first video in our Dev Diary series, which focused on environments and storyline.

Many of you immediately asked "when is the next one coming?" I’m happy to answer that the latest video is now available! It focuses on Resistance 3′s vicious new Chimeran enemies and the significant artificial intelligence improvements we’re making, including enhanced group tactics.

Sony Announces PlayStation Official App v1.1 Is Coming Soon

Sony Portal Manager [b]Emmanuel Orssaud[/b] has announced today that the PlayStation Official App v1.1 is coming soon from the iTunes and Android Market.

To quote: I’m pleased to announce that the next version (1.1) will include some of the most requested features.

This new version will be available for download in a few weeks from iTunes and Android Market. Let’s take a look at the new features and improvements.

In the MyPSN section you’ll be able to order your friend list based on their online status and search for friends.

You will now have the ability to compare trophy information with your friends in more detail, as shown in the screenshots below.

In the Blog section, you’ll now be able to comment directly from the app and also rate the posts in portrait and landscape mode.

[b]Share & Discuss[/b]

There is a new section in the app called Share & Discuss. In there you’ll find all our official
PlayStation updates from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Sony Says Play on – PSN Restoration Officially Begins Now!

Following the release of [url=http://www.ps3news.com/playstation-3-psn-news/ps3-firmware-system-software-update-3-61-is-released/]PS3 Firmware 3.61[/url] and the PSN restoration announcement from [b]Kazuo Hirai[/b], Sony’s Senoir Director of Corporate Communications & Social Media [b]Patrick Seybold[/b] tells PSN users to ‘play on’ confirming that PlayStation Network restoration officially begins now.

To quote: Thank you for your patience and encouragement over the last few weeks. As covered in the post from earlier today, you can now update the firmware on your PS3 and change your password. Kazuo Hirai just announced that we have begun the phased restoration by region of some of the services, starting with online multiplayer functionality.

Please note that these services will take a bit of time to be turned on and rolled out to the whole country. The process has begun and some states are being turned on now, so please be patient as we reach your city and state. Weï¿½ll be updatin

From their [url=http://www.irwebcasting.com/live/110501/02/index.html]Press Conference[/url] today, [B]Kazuo Hirai[/B] has briefed the media on Sony’s investigation into the PlayStation Network security breach, PSN security measures and service restoration plans.

Sony stated they plan restore some PSN and Qriocity services this week with the rest during the new month, and confirmed that all existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service while current members of PlayStation Plus will receive 30 days free service.
