PlayStation & Facebook Launch Year-Long ‘the Game’ Tournament

Just under two weeks ago Sony incorporated Facebook integration into the PS3 XMB through the [url=http://www.ps3news.com/PS3-Online/ps3-firmware-3-10-update-is-now-available/]PS3 Firmware 3.10[/url] update.

Today, NewMediaAge (linked above) is reporting that Sony PlayStation and Facebook are launching a year-long global interactive tournament in December following its recent partnership with social network Facebook.

Details are sparse at the moment, however, we do know that the tournament will be referred to simply as ‘The Game’ and will highlight the social networking elements of the PS3 system.

To quote: "Sony PlayStation is launching a year-long global interactive tournament, dubbed The Game, following its recent partnership with social network Facebook.

The Game, slated for an early December release and hosted via the online PlayStation Network, is the first tie-up between the two companies after they struck a partnership deal earlier this month."
